" Lose Of Fun"

Today the Town of La Conner comes together with three different cultures: tourism, the arts, and fishing. La Conner is on the National Registry of Historic Places. The Civic Garden Club, located within the town, was the first courthouse north of Seattle.
The La Conner Tribe now is more of a town now instead of back in history when they took the culture more serious, now La Conner is almost jut like any other city or town just people living life, same cars same houses and the same type of jobs. I think that La Conner was probably more fun to live in the earlier time’s because they had all of their traditions going on.

"Basic La Conner Info"

La Conner is 0.5 square miles, and 0.1 square miles of that area is water! Nonetheless, it is loaded with historic buildings, galleries, museums, restaurants, inns and shops. Time seems to slow to a crawl in this quiet little village when you walk along First Street, which is where most of the action is. ‘LA Conner time’ is a welcome counterpoint to ‘Seattle Time,
LA Conner has some pretty spectacular scenery, and this is especially true around April, when the acres and acres of tulips, daffodils, irises and lilies are in full bloom and provide a veritable feast for the eyes.

Part Time Indian.. "Wierd Friendship"

In the book I'm reading "The Diary Of A Part Timer Indian" the main character is this boy who was born with numerous birth issue's , although he is still able to walk, talk , and read he still looks different than a lot of the other kids. But he has this friend named Rowdy and Rowdy is like the neighborhood bully,I mean he is a tough kid strong and built, but there's only one person that he doesn't mess with he not only doesn't mess with him but he is like best friends with him and that person happens to be Junior the main character who all the other kids pick on and bully due to him looking different from everyone else. You would think that the neighborhood all time bully would pick on the kid that looks the weirdest but not Rowdy. But Junior is very luck to have Rowdy around to protect him from the other not so big bullies.

" How The Name Came About " ?

The La Conner Tribe name came about in 1869 from a man who was from Olympia, and bought the land, his name was john. S Conner, John used his last name to create the tribe name. Johns main reason for having the "LA" Conner was to name it after his wife Louisa Ann Conner, you see the "LA" is his wife initials for Louisa Ann. Pretty cool ,I've always thought the La in La Conner was just to make it sound good, never thought it was used to shorten someones name.

Wondering Who Was The First Native?

The La Conner Tribe happens to be the oldest community in Skagit County. It was first settled by non natives after the Civil War took place,so I'm guessing that soon the non native settlers brought over the natives, or maybe there was a American half native. There had to be someone native or at least American and native to settler there first for the tribe to be known as a native tribe. Then again there could of been great oppurtunity in the community that attracted the natives to go there, like jobs, better farming or something that was of value to the natives.

Part Time Indian???....

While reading this novel by Sherman Alexie I realized that there can be many different part time Indians, and by part time I mean by being native as well as another race. Like Asian and native, black and native, white and native, Hispanic and native. There's even people mixed with three different races, like me for instance I just happen to be native,Caucasian, and black. When I think about it I don't think I've ever seen a Asian mixed with native,or I might have but just didn't know it. It seems like I only can tell a native when they are full native or if I ask a person their nationality which I rarely do. It's crazy because I think everyone See's a part time Indian everyday even though you may not notice them they are still there.
